vision

Caruana Inc. consistently produces design and construction projects that live beyond the realm of the ordinary. Paul Caruana, the founder and owner, approaches every project with an eye for creative opportunities and a mind for solving problems. Taking those inherent opportunities and challenges into consideration means no two projects are alike. Specializing in high-end residential and commercial design and construction, Paul works with his clients to develop a shared vision for the project. Whether facing a well-worn home, a neglected commercial property or just an empty lot, Paul imagines what few others would see.

In making these visions a reality, Paul is able to work effectively with a client's existing team of architects and designers to provide construction services to the project, or he can bring design and architectural talent to the project and provide management from start to finish. In either case, having a single "conductor" (as one client was fond of referring to Paul) to orchestrate the project has proven to be efficient and cost effective.

Paul is also committed to creating value for his clients and promotes transparency when it comes to project costs. "Trust is huge," Paul says of building successful relationships with his clients. "After we get to know each other," Paul said, "many clients are happy to defer some of the more tedious decision-making to me, trusting that I have their desires, taste and best interest at heart."

Caruana's vision is evident in such projects as the Pinehurst neighborhood on the North Oregon Coast in Gearhart, the 14th Street corridor in Downtown Astoria (including renovation of the Commodore Hotel), and projects like Bside6 in Portland, Oregon.
